In short yes, practice makes perfect. Don’t just graft fruit trees, graft trees onto themselves meaning cut one branch off and then cut another and swap the scion woods. You already know they are compatible.

Keep practicing on your more common abundant rootstock before moving on to your more limited exotic fruit tree seedlings.
